WH 1772
Transliteration
l ʿg bn {h}dm bn ʿk w rʿy h- knf ṣyr f h rḍy s¹lm w ʿwr m ʿwr
Translation
By ʿg son of {Hdm} son of S¹k and he pastured this region while returning to permanent water and so O Rḍy [grant] security but blind anyone who scratches out [the inscription]

Interpretation

Apparatus Criticus
WH: ldm for hdm; s¹k for ʿk; kn{f} for knf; hyr for ṣyr.
Commentary
Although the first letter of the patronym has been damaged it is clear it as a h rather than a l as read by WH. It can also be seen that the initial letter of the third name is clearly a ʿ not a s¹. For knf compare Arabic kanf "neighbourhood, region, quarter, tract" (Groom 1983).

Provenance
WH Cairn 23 and this inscription were rediscovered and photographed by the Badia Epigraphic Survey in 2018 and the co-ordinates given are exact.
