Commentary
Note that l in this text is a straight line with no hook at either end and r is straight line with a hook at one or both ends. Moreover, what WH read as the ʿ in rʿy is a hole in the rock and what they read as y in the same word is a l with a mark near the top which on close examination does not seem to be part of the letter (see some of the photographs). What WH read as another ʿ before the n towards the end of the text is also a mark rather than a letter. Unfortunately we have not been able to interpret this section of the inscription.

Provenance
WH Cairn 39 and this inscription were rediscovered and photographed by the Badia Epigraphic Survey in 2018 and the co-ordinates given are exact.
