WH 3858

Text Information

Siglum
WH 3858
Transliteration
l ʿtn bn yʿrr
Translation
By ʿtn son of Yʿrr

Interpretation

Apparatus Criticus
WH: yʿyl for yʿrr
Commentary
Unlike the lām auctoris, the two final letters each have a hook, the first at the bottom and the second at the top. We would therefore suggest that they are both rs. Neither resemble the y at the beginning of the name as in WH's copy.

Provenance
WH Cairn 47 and this inscription were rediscovered and photographed by the Badia Epigraphic Survey in 2018 and the co-ordinates given are exact.
