Interpretation

- WH: "and he was extremely miserable, overshadowed (by grief)"
- Commentary
- The root ẓll can also mean 'to remain, to stay', which we feel better suits this context. Since the author has written bʾs¹ 'he grieved' three times, it seems that he wished to emphasize the fact that he was in a perpetual state of grief.
