Interpretation

Commentary

The reading of g in Gyz is initially uncertain, as it has a crossed tail at the end and doesn't look completely closed at the other. However, the only other letter it resembles is s and syz is not an attested name in Safaitic. Moreover, we can confirm it is a g by identifying inscriptions by this author's presumed relatives, SSWS 23 and KRS 710, both of which include gyz bn s¹ḫr bn ʿr in their genealogies.
