Interpretation

Commentary
The part of the stone bearing the first letter visible has almost entirely broken away. Nevertheless, the letter is almost certainly s², given that the genealogy has been attested previously (RSIS 30, 67; C 1685; RSIS 41). The end of the inscription cannot be read due to abrasion on the stone. It seems likely that the author is saying they found the inscription of someone, perhaps by qḥs² bn ḥḍg, his ancestor, which is on the same stone (BES20 360). Josef Bloomfield
