Interpretation
- Commentary
- The final letter of the inscription is at the edge of the stone. Whilst the letter does resemble a large angular b, it clearly cannot be b due to the shape of the same letter in bn. A reading of ẓ in this context seems unlikely. It seems, therefore, that the author may not have written the entire letter, perhaps because of it's position on the edge of the stone. If the author drew a vertical line on the right side, it would form a clear k. A reading of a k here is uncertain, but seems like a likely option. Josef Bloomfield
