b-s²ḥrt: The first line, which is written horizontally across the top of the columns, contains what is probably a toponym introduced by the locative preposition b-. s²ḥrt corresonds to the name of the region today, śaḥrūt.
The following three terms are difficult to interpret. Klbt is a common Semitic name. Ḥbdt is attested once more without the t as ḥbd. The present context may suggest that it should be interpreted as a name. The root is unknown in Arabic, Ethiopic, or South Arabian. The inscription is at the moment impossible to interpret.
ġlṭm: This term is attested for the first time with an m, but ġlṭ is attested in other instances. I would provisionally suggest that the -m is the 3rd masculine plural ending of the verb, here meaning 'they transgressed'. If correct, then the text would belong to the genre of public confession, a popular genre in the Haram inscriptions of the Yemeni Jawf.
