Interpretation
- Commentary
- This seems to be the first attestation of the term ʾk, which probably corresponds to the Classical Arabic ʾayk, "a place where water collects and sinks into the ground" (Lane 137b). The reading of s¹nt is uncertain. The first letter is partially covered, but looks like a double-helix shape. The term mgd here has been translated in comparison with the Classical Arabic mājidun, a synonym for kaṯīr, "much, abundant" (Lane 2690b).
