By Ḥnn son of ʿḏrʾl of the lineage of ʿmrt and he halted on account of the downpour the year the king of Nabataea died.

Interpretation

- Commentary
- On the published facsimile the second letter of gn{b} is shown as the same length as the n's in the text and is not only too short to be a l as read by the Ed. pr. but lacks their distinctive hook at one end. However on the photograph a hook can be seen at its lower extremity and it looks as though the letter extends across the ends of both lines 2 and 3. For ʾ-dmt "the downpour" see Al-Jallad & Jaworska under dmt
