AAEK 388: w [ʿ]l hnʾ f h lt s¹lm for w l- -h [h-] ʾnfs¹

Commentary

It appears that the author (or a predecssor) carved the letters l y just before where the text begins and then scrtatched them over. There is short line in the same technique as the inscription at right angles to the l- of l- -h which seems to be extraneous to the text. To the right of it khl (AAEK 388.2) is scratched much more lightly than the other texts on this stone. It is probable that the definite article (h-) before ʾnfs¹ has been assimilated to the enclitic pronoun -h immediately before it. After the s¹ of ʾnfs¹, the letters l wly are probably a different inscription (AAEK 388.1) since they are carved in a different technique.
