Interpretation
- Commentary
- The author of this text is the artist of the celebration scene on the same rock. He is the brother of BES19s 29 and appears to have authored on more text, AWS 401, at Wādī al-Sūʿ in southern Syria. The scene depicts a celebration with six men performing a line dance, a leader, and a long-haired man playing the double-reed flute (miǧwiz). The belts across the chest are similar to those worn by Bedouin men today.
