Interpretation
- Commentary
The y and k of nyk are close together and have been damaged by later marks. The letter which follows nyk seems to have extraneous scratches making it look superficially like a ʾ or ṣ. After the ʾ which follows there is a chip in the rock followed by a short vertical line which we have read as n. After that there appears to be a longer vertical line which could only be a l but does not seem to make sense as part of the name. After that there is a shape which does not resemble any Safaitic letter.
