Interpretation
- Commentary
- The reading of the patronym is very tentative. The first letter appears to be a circle with a vertical line, but may have a shape at the other end of the line. The letter read as ʿ is a hammered area of stone that is rather triangular in shape. The clearest letter of the name is the third which is likely to be a ḏ, nevertheless the line of the right-hand fork, may be joined to the first letter of the name instead. A short vertical are of hammering has been read as the n. Josef Bloomfield
