Interpretation
- Commentary
- The surface of the stone is heavily abraded and a number of inscription are positioned tightly together. The inscription can be read partially in the enhanced photograph. The end of the inscription is not clear as it crosses over with BES20 841. Whilst the letters are not legible on the stone, it seems likely that the final name should be mrʾ. A ʿbṭ bn ʿzhm bn mrʾ has been attested 8 times previously (e.g. ASWS 74; BES15 171; C 219). Josef Bloomfield
