Macdonald 2018: s¹{y}t {ḍ/b}{b}{m} wdd-n, trans.'----loves me’.
- Commentary
-
Macdonald (2018) took the second column as wdd-n, but the script is clearly Thamudic D and so the final glyph cannot be understood as an n.
s¹{y}t: This is possibly a variant of the term s¹t, which is well attested in Thamudic D. Al-Jallad (2025b) hypothesized that it refers to a memorial inscription.
bby: This is an unattested name, but bb is found in Safaitic.
wd dr: This is perhaps the signature of the author introduced by the verb or nominal form wd. Dr is a well-attested name in ANA.
