MḤYB – The root ḥyb is attested in the Safaitic corpus as an alternate of ḥwb, “to lament” (Al-Jallad and Jaworska 2019: 82). I have interpreted this as a D-stem / Form-II participle mḥyb (/moḥayyeb/), with a 3ms suffix referring to ʿbd. It is also possible that the m belongs with the previous name, in which case ḥyb would be a 3ms perfect: ʿl ʿbdm ḥyb-h “[he grieved] for ʿbdm, whom he lamented [for a long time].” MṬL – This is, as far as I know, the first instance of this root in the Safaitic corpus. In ClAr, the root often signifies prolonging or lengthening. There are several possible realizations of the word here based on attestations from other Arabic lexica, but I suggest a likely candidate is the L-Stem/Form-III maṣdar form miṭāl “lengthening, protracting” (Hava 717). The use here is adverbial, modifying the previous participle.
