ʾḥy: The form ʾḥy must be a nominal form/infinitive of the C-stem of the root ḥyw, cognate with Classical Arabic ʾiḥyāʾun. We are motivated to understand it as such rather than an imperative because the object is introduced by the dative l-.
ḥmrh: This word shares the same consonantal skeleton as ḥimār ‘ass,’ but it is hard to see what ‘delivering’ his ride animal would mean. Rather, it is possible that his wife’s name is ḥmr and he used the suffix pronoun as a mode of endearment, or that her full name was simply ḥmrh. On the other hand, we may suppose a metathesis of m and r. The intended word might have been ḥrm, a synonym of mrʾt meaning ‘woman.’
