Interpretation

Commentary

ʿbdn----: The area after the n is chipped. If the chip was there before carving, then it is possible that the name is simply ʿbdn. Otherwise, it would appear to attest a new theophoric name. While ʿbdnq is attested in Dadanitic, no traces of a q can be detected. The final element could be nr 'light.'

ḏ: The final ḏ, which was interpreted to be a demonstrative adverb in TES22_HA 1, is only partially visible, having been covered by modern Arabic writing.
