Interpretation
- Commentary
- The author omitted the phrase "bn zkk" in the original composition then inserted it below the line in smaller letters. The final name of the genealogy appears as ṣ{n}wn, but a close inspection of the second letter reveals that it is a poorly carved b; this reading is confirmed by the fact that the same man carved BES17 644, where the name is clearly written ṣbwn. Moreover, ṣbwn is an attested name in Safaitic while ṣnwn is unknown.
