gs²r: This term finds a plausible cognate in Classical Arabic ǧāširun 'a man who takes his horses or camels to pasture far away and stays with them' (Lane, 427a-b). The site is located at suitable pastureland and may suggest that the author had come here for that purpose. Whether he was part of the burial party is unclear.
