Interpretation

Commentary

The interpretation of this inscription is currently impossible, despite the clear reading. It contains some repeating vocabulary. s²rtm, for example, would correspond to the repeating s²rr in Script 1b inscriptions. Howeer, tmbm, does not seem to derive from any known root. It is tempting to connect ʾm with the common Semitic term for mother, *ʾimm-, but context cannot confirm this.
